Robert O. Carr, president and CEO of Beyond is available for comment on the September 6 announcement that credit reporting company Equifax has suffered a major cybersecurity breach, potentially affecting the personal data of 143 million Americans.
As former CEO and Founder of Heartland Payment Systems, Inc., Mr. Carr has a thorough and intimate understanding of the risks this country faces from cybersecurity threats, having weathered a major breach at Heartland in 2009. He chronicled his experience in his recent book, Through the Fires: An American Story of Turbulence, Business Triumph and Giving Back.
Mr. Carr is also the co-chair of the President’s National Infrastructure Advisory Council, a non-partisan council formed in 2001 by executive order to advise on the risks to the nation’s infrastructure, particularly from cyber related threats
